A Message from Our President
Dear Wildwood Residents,
My name is Patrick Hauser, I am your new Wildwood Community Association (WCA) President. I have lived in Wildwood for over 12 years now and have served on the WCA board for the past four years. I am proud to be a part of our community. I think it is the best neighbourhood in the city – for its diversity, convenience, safety, services and parks and trees.
The first thing that makes Wildwood a great community is our great group of committed WCA Board members and community volunteers, as well as all WCA members supporting the board and participating in our activities. Everyone here helps ensure Wildwood continues to be a great place to live, providing numerous community-based activities for both children and adults, as well as hosting other special events through the year. In addition, the WCA actively works with the city, through our invaluable Saskatoon Community Consultant, Mark, to look at ways we can maintain and improve our neighbourhood’s large parks, hockey rink, roads and other valuable and convenient services.
You are more than welcome to get more involved, at the board table, as a volunteer and/or as a participant in a new community activity. And, if you are an expert at something you want to share and teach others, then we’re happy to work with new activity leaders. Please contact us to share your thoughts!
As well, our community and children benefit from having two great elementary schools in our community – Wildwood School in the public school system, and Bishop Pocock School in the Catholic school system. The WCA has established strong relationships with leaders in our local schools and in our active PTA groups. All of these help ensure we continue to support our schools’ community events as well as effectively and respectfully utilize our schools’ space to bring Wildwood residents many opportunities to get involved to learn new things and develop unique skills.
In addition, the WCA continues to strengthen our relationships with our elected officials – with Bev Dubois, our Saskatoon City Councillor, with Lisa Lambert our MLA in Regina, and Kevin Waugh our MP in Ottawa. This helps ensure we stay on top of any municipal, provincial or national opportunities to continually improve our neighbourhood.
Please take time to read through our Winter 2019 newsletter, and consider getting out to join a community activity. Our newsletter provides information for all the excellent community programming, for both children and for adults – AND the link to our community’s Facebook account and website which are regularly updated with news, events and allow for online registration and payment for our community association memberships and activity programming.
The Wildwood Community Association Board of Directors wishes everyone a happy, healthy, safe and successful 2020!
Sincerely,
Patrick Hauser
Wildwood Community Association Board President
