Warm Weather Results in Changes to Family Day Event Outdoor Activities

Plans for the City’s annual Family Day Skate Event at the Clarence Downey Speed Skating Oval (Oval) have been modified. The unseasonably warm weather has resulted in the Oval closing until colder weather resumes and the ice conditions are back to normal.

Although the ice will not be available, outdoor Family Day activities will continue at the Oval from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. including games, crafts, winter sports, and a DJ.

Family Day skating will continue to be available at Cosmo Civic Centre Arena from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.  There will also be MĒ TA WĒ TĀN games, arts, and crafts available in the Cosmo Civic Centre gym from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
