Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. The Community I live in is not offering soccer this year, can I register in Wildwood?
Absolutely! When registering we ask you which community you are from to help organize the
teams. We will do our best to keep kids from the same community playing on the same team.
This will also allow the possibility of practices to be held closer to your home (at the discretion
    of the coach of course).
  2. I can’t afford the registration fee, but I really want my child to play. Is there any financial
    help?

Yes! Kidsport and JumpStart are two great options. Please complete the application prior to
registering. You may still register if you have a pending application. The registration processes
for KidSport and JumpStart are as follows.:

    KidSport:
    1. Apply for assistance through KidSport:  KidSport Website
    2. Submit your soccer registration (Through the RAMP Website)
    3. Notify us at treasurer@ourwildwood.ca when you receive your KidSport application result (regardless of whether it was approved or denied).

    JumpStart:
    1. Apply for assistance through JumpStart: JumpStart Website
    2. Submit your soccer registration (Through the RAMP Website)
    3. Notify us at treasurer@ourwildwood.ca when you receive your JumpStart
application result (regardless of whether it was approved or denied).

There is also help through your local community association. Please contact soccer@ourwildwood.ca or treasurer@ourwildwood.ca for assistance with community association financial support.
  3. Can I register for WCA soccer online?
Yes! You must register for soccer online at the following link: WCA RAMP Registration
  4. I am having trouble completing the online registration, is there someone I can contact for help?
If you are having difficulties navigating the site, you can contact soccer@ourwildwood.ca. If you are having difficulties with English, please connect your settlement agency (for example, Open Door Society or The Global Gathering Place)
  5. When is soccer registration in WCA?
    February 1, 2026 until March 13, 2026
  6. Other than the registration fee what is required to register for soccer?
A valid Wildwood Community Association membership is required to register for soccer. Other valid Saskatoon Community Association memberships are also accepted for a program. If you do not have a membership you can purchase a Wildwood Community Association membership for $15.00 prior to or when registering for a program.
  7. What if my child’s year of birth is 2016 or earlier?
Your child should be enrolled in Youth Soccer though our zone (Lakewood Soccer).
    See www.lakewoodsoccer.com or www.saskatoonyouthsoccer.ca.
  8. My child is small/inexperienced. Can they play down a level?
No, unfortunately this is not permitted by Saskatoon Youth Soccer. Note that SYSI considers U5-U9 to be non-competitive. Scores are not kept during games.
  9. Can I register for U9 Developmental league through RCA?
Registration for U9 Developmental league is through the Lakewood zone. Please visit www.lakewoodsoccer.com or www.saskatoonyouthsoccer.ca for details.
  10. Can a player register on a Community League team as well as a Zone D- League team?
There are no longer restrictions for playing in both and the player may be registered in both leagues. The player and parent must take into consideration the number of training and game times which will take place on a weekly basis between the two and make a decision as to how much is safe for the player.
  11. When and where are U5-U9 practices held?
For U5, U7, and U9, teams will practice outdoors. Practices will normally be held in Wildwood Park at the discretion of your coach and will depend on field availability.
  12. Where are games held?
Games will be held on grass fields within the Lakewood zone community (most played in Wildwood, Rosewood, Lakeridge, Lakeview).
  13. Are U7 and U9 teams co-ed or gender specific?
Both U7 and U9 are gender specific but SYS will allow female players on boy’s teams for U7 and U9 if there are not enough players to form a team. The coordinators will also be communicating with other community associations to determine what their numbers look like. If we do not have enough girls or boys form a team we will ask other surrounding community associations if they have players or if they need players if we have a surplus.
  14. What is the refund policy?
If the soccer program you sign up for is cancelled we will contact you and refund your registration fee. There will be no refunds after March 13, 2026. Community membership fees are non-refundable.
